On Sunday, April 2, between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., police officers from the department conducted a seatbelt and child seat check at the corner of Lamarche and Brazeau roads in L’Ange-Gardien.
During this presence, approximately 100 vehicles were checked. In about 1/4 of the cases, our officers discovered irregularities concerning the use of child seats. Either the seats were not properly anchored or the children were not properly secured. This operation was meant to be “preventive” and no fines were issued in this regard. Needless to say, our staff made sure that the seats and children were properly secured before the drivers got back on the road.
So take the time to check all the details concerning car seats for children by consulting the SAAQ website: https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/road-safety/behaviours/child-safety-seats
