Last Friday, September 13, our team was on the Gatineau River for prevention and to enforce boating safety rules.
During the day, our officers carried out a total of 15 verifications. Of these, 22 warnings were issued and 5 tickets were issued for failure to wear a lifejacket. 5 boaters were asked to leave the water.
So far this year, our team has carried out 21 outings on the territory’s waterways, 323 verifications, 143 warnings, 22 tickets and 63 expulsions.
Statistically speaking, it’s clear that our team’s primary mandate is not the issue tickets, but prevention.
