On October 3, at around 2:15 a.m. on Highway 309 in L’Ange-Gardien, a 19-year-old driver from Ottawa was caught driving southbound at 141 km/h in thick fog. When police attempted to intercept him, he didn’t stop immediately and tried to flee the police. Unfortunately for him, he lost control of his vehicle at the corner of Highway 309 and Chemin Farnand, where he was apprehended. As a result of his escapade, the young man received 5 fines totalling $3,962 and 14 points, a badly damaged vehicle, a suspended driver’s licence and his vehicle was seized. Fortunately, the driver was unhurt in his misfortune. But that’s not all: when his mother came to pick him up, she also received a $504 ticket for unpaid plates.
