This past weekend was very difficult for motorists in general, as well as for residents of Old Chelsea, Kingsmere and Meech Lake who had to drive through the area.
At one point, Old Chelsea Road looked like a parking lot, and frustration and impatience were palpable. Added to this was the multitude of illegally parked vehicles along Mine and Notch roads, making driving difficult and sometimes dangerous.
To prevent further disruption, police officers had to be on site at all times to discourage motorists from parking in prohibited areas.
Between Saturday and Sunday, over a hundred fines were issued only for those two roads. There are still several days to go before the end of fall color, and be assured that our police officers will keep a watchful eye and issue fines to anyone parking illegally.
