On November 20, two teenagers aged 13 and 14 were arrested in connection with the theft of a pickup truck and trailer on November 16 in L’Ange-Gardien.

These arrests were made possible thanks to the rapid collaboration between the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais public security service, the Sûreté du Québec Papineauville station and the Gatineau SPVG police service.

The investigation shows that, following the theft, the pair abandoned the trailer containing a steamroller on the grounds of the Hormidas-Gamelin school in the Buckingham sector, then drove around several Outaouais areas before abandoning the pickup truck late in the evening of November 17, still in the Buckingham sector. During the same period, the duo also allegedly stole a dirt bike in L’Ange-Gardien.

According to the investigation, the accused were also involved in similar thefts in recent months in the Outaouais region.

They were detained and appeared in court yesterday, November 21, and will remain in custody until their next court appearance, scheduled for November 29 (13-year-old accused) and December 5 (14-year-old accused).

They are charged with;

– X3 counts of theft

– X2 counts of receiving stolen goods

– X1 count of breach of conditions for the 14-year-old, who already had a criminal record.

The investigation is ongoing, as it cannot be ruled out that they are also linked to other events that may have occurred during this period.
