Surprise, winter returns every year, along with flu, winter temperatures, snow and Igloomobiles.
Every winter, we unfortunately notice that some people forget that their vehicle MUST be cleaned of any material that might come loose from it. Yes, just like the snow! Not only is this an OBLIGATION under the Highway Safety Code, but failure to do so can be… (drum roll) be DANGEROUS not only for yourself, but also for others.
Of course, there’s nothing new in this and it’s just common sense, but … That’s why we like to show you, with a photo, what our police officers can see. In the attached example, the driver, a 59-year-old man from La Pêche, had to clear his vehicle before leaving, but also received a $111 fine. We believe that this type of fine can easily be avoided by taking a few extra minutes to clear the snow from your vehicle.
