A 23-year-old Ottawa woman was arrested shortly after 05:00 for refusing to provide a breath sample following a road collision in Val-des-Monts. She herself had contacted the police to report the incident, but had also mentioned that the crash was caused by another motorist, who subsequently fled the scene.

As a result, her vehicle was impounded for 30 days, her driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and she will have to appear in court at a later date. She also received a fine of $175 and 3 points for failing to make a mandatory stop, and a fine of $509 for providing false information to officers.
