Thomas O’Neil, 18, a La Pêche man, was arrested at his home in the Wakefield sector on Friday, March 28, around 8:40 p.m., following a robbery that had occurred one (1) hour earlier at the Shell gas station at 1711 Route 105 in the Farm Point sector of Chelsea. The suspect arrived at the business demanding the contents of the cash drawer from the clerk at gunpoint. The police officers’ intuition, combined with accurate and credible information obtained during the event, helped to quickly solve the matter and recover several pieces of evidence related to the incident. The suspect has appeared in court and remains in custody. He is expected to be charged with;

– Robbery

– Pointing a firearm

– Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

– Disguise with intent

As for the clerk, a 26-year-old man from Gatineau, he was not physically injured, but suffered a nervous shock.
